EGYPT

Country Info

Egypt is the most heavily populated country in the Arab world and the second most populous in the African Continent. The country’s history dates back to almost 6000 years, which makes it boast of several archaeological wonders. Egypt experiences hot and dry weather throughout the year.

Imagine yourself on one of our Egypt tours, standing in front of the legendary Sphinx as it gazes across the Egyptian desert. The great Pyramids of Giza, the tomb of Tutankhamon in the Valley of the Kings, and the Temple of Amon Ra are several of the colossal sights awaiting you on Egypt tours. With a history that spans thousands of years, it's challenging to see all there is to see on Egypt vacations, which is why our tour packages exist to help you make the most of your Egypt travel experience. As the majority of the country is in deserts you can enjoy camel riding. Horse riding is another leisure activity, which is immensely popular here. River Nile provides a host of water sports like scuba diving, snorkeling and rafting too. Spending a night at the grand opera is a beautiful cultural experience, something you would have never experienced before. Egypt has the primary religion as Islam so mostly all the Islamic festivals are observed here but still there are Coptic Christians. The Egyptians still use the Coptic calendar to determine the festival dates.

Major Cities

Cairo- Cairo, Egypt's populous capital city ranks as one of the largest cities in Africa. This city of contradictions will mesmerize you with its ageless charm. The ancient and the modern co-exist in surprising harmony. The pristine mosques, the colorful streets, and the sophisticated skyscrapers, all exist in tandem with each other. The generosity and friendliness of its people will make you feel at ease.

Aswan – This is the gate to Africa. Aswan is a stunning city located in Upper Egypt. This city is small enough to walk around and is graced with the most beautiful setting on the Nile. Aswan today offers beautiful natural landscape in addition to numerous sites of interest.

Alexandria – It is Egypt's second largest city having country’s main seaport. This city also has the ancient background like Cairo. Alexandria is also known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean. It has many cultural happenings with theater productions being staged round the year. It is also home to the River Oaks Square Arts Center, which has more than 30 studios and two galleries.

Tourist Attractions

Great Pyramid - The largest pyramid is the one that was built for King Khufu, known as the Great Pyramid. This is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World that still survives. The ancient Egyptians built more than 90 royal pyramids, from 2630 BC to1530 BC. During that time, the pyramid form evolved from a series of stepped terraces that resembled the layers of a wedding cake to the sloped pyramidal shape. The first pyramid, the Step Pyramid at Saqqarah, was constructed during the reign of King Djoser.

The Egyptian Museum - The Museum, which is located at Tahrir Square in Cairo, has almost 107 halls comprising various statues and treasures. The Museum houses over 120,000 objects including mummies of the Egyptian pharaohs, sculptures, treasures and sacrophagi. It also houses various monuments.

The Edfu Temple –This Temple was built during the Ptolomaic times. Edfu or the Temple of Horus is one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. It is also the second largest after the Temple of Karnak. It has many ruins of the old city in the background.
