Major Cities
Banff- Situated at an elevation of 4,580 ft, the town of Banff is surrounded by mountains. The town offers an interesting mix of activities to indulge in, be it recreation, sightseeing or adventure sports. You can visit here a number of museums, art galleries and even springs.
Jasper - Jasper is a scenic place surrounded by lush green sceneries and beautiful lakes. There are many tourist attractions in and around the place. Visit the Jasper-Yellowhead Historical Society Museum, Den Wildlife Museum or take a joyride in the highest reversible tramway.
Vancouver- Canadian Rockies’ main center of the attraction is Vancouver, making the city worth a visit. This scenic city has an amazing number of National parks, gardens and parklands, making it look greener. Queen Elizabeth Parka and Stanley Park are the major attractions. These parks have aquariums, lawns and rose gardens, with awe-inspiring beauty. For children there is one of the worlds’ biggest amusement parks known as Calaway Park. Built in 1967, The Calgary Tower stands in the "center" of the city, with the towering height of 191 metres. Canada’s second largest zoo is Calgary Zoo with over 1,000 various mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds living there.
Activities
Banff Park Museum -This is one of the Canada’s oldest natural history museums. It has many stuffed animals, some dating back to the 1860’s. It also houses minerals and other artifacts.
Whyte Museum - The Whyte Museum is situated on the Lynx Street. The Museum is home to four art galleries, a heritage library, all showcasing the rich heritage of the region.
Sulphur Mountain- Enjoy the beautiful views of the town of Banff atop the Sulphur Mountain. You can also take a Gondola ride to the top.
Maligne Canyon - The Maligne Canyon is the deepest and longest canyon in the Canadian Rockies having 75 ft high walls composed of limestone. The self guiding trail covering over six bridges leads to a teahouse.
Luxton Museum -Luxton Museum displays the Canadian culture rich in elaborative ceremonies, dances and songs.
